What Kind of Example are You Setting?

Most religions and philosophies talk about being good examples. Many in the Christian faith have heard the expression, “What would Jesus do?” (WWJD) This is to serve as a reminder to imitate Christ in all thoughts, words and deeds. Pondering this phrase assists one in moving things into a more loving and compassionate view of others.

Jesus was not our only example of the way we should behave. We have had many examples throughout history: Gandhi, the Dalai Lama, Mother Teresa, Eleanor Roosevelt, Linus Pauling, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela. It is important to note that every one of us serves as an example for others.

There are so many sad stories in the news of people deliberately doing things that hurt others. I know that these individuals are in need of all the Love, Light, Blessings, Prayers and assistance that we can send them and their victims. Don’t people understand that we ALL ARE ONE? Our actions send out a ripple effect, like a pebble in a pond, affecting more people than you can imagine.

Remember the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.” When living by this rule, all are treated with consideration since we each appreciate just treatment for ourselves. In addition, we don’t wish to have poor choices cause us future karmic backlash.

Setting an example is something that we do on a daily basis, even when we are unaware of who is watching or listening. If you doubt this, watch little children and listen to what comes out of their mouths when you didn’t know they were paying attention to you.

It is important to remember that YOU CAN ONLY CHANGE YOU. By changing yourself, you become a better example for others. At the end of each day, try reviewing the experiences you have had and see if there was any place where you did not apply the Golden Rule. Then visualize how you could have shifted things into a more loving light. This will help you to break out of negative patterns to become a positive example. You may even want to journal your experiences so you can look back later and see how much you have changed.

Spiritual growth and evolution involves a process of differentiation of one way of looking at life and oneself into another way of perceiving oneself and the world. BE THE EXAMPLE of what you wish to see in the world, and eventually we will all see the results, not only of you changing you, but of others changing, too.

No News is Good News

I wrote this article back in 2000, but felt a need to update it and share it again now.

I awakened with a nagging question: What does the world gain by you retelling that story?   ”Story” refers to negative news and gossip.  When receiving negative news, we make judgments that the world is full of bad people and terrifying events.  Repeating such judgments leads us and others into fear.

If you believe, as I do, that thought creates, then, it is important that we hold positive thoughts about the world and its inhabitants. We must step back from allowing situations in which judgments of others are made. Stories that arouse passionate, judgmental feelings of others will not create better people or a better world.

Dr. Andrew Weil suggests a “news break,” but it is sometimes difficult to avoid exposure to news reports. Stations often repeat the same stories over and over, and many acquaintances seek our reactions to these news events.

In the interest of a better world, I decided to change my news habits. Then I thought about my own “news.”  Do I really need the pity of others by going into all the details of challenges in my life?  Can I put more focus on the lessons learned from each life challenge? Could I take a more compassionate view of world happenings?  I knew it would be difficult, but I was willing to try.

I made the following commitments:

I will avoid reading, watching or listening to the news.

I will avoid judgments of others.

I will avoid retelling stories that cause someone to think ill of another.

I will focus on the lessons that others are learning from their actions while remembering  that each individual is on their own path.

I will send them Love and Light to support them on their journey.

Three months passed without my reading a newspaper or watching the news. I really didn’t miss it. I have much more joy in my life and have found myself able to avoid the myriad of judgmental thoughts that had come so frequently.  Many people feel the need to build a wall around their home to live “safely.” I am surrounded by a loving, caring world now, and I find that I have more love in my heart to give and share with others.  I realized the world will be changed by those who have replaced fear with love.

I wonder how it will affect all of those investigative news shows if many of us change our news habits. It is important to me to do justice to this topic if the world thought is to be changed for a more positive view of others. How much more trusting of others would we become?

How less apt would we be to misinterpret or judge the words and actions of others? How much could we effect progress toward world peace? Can we get a “good news” paper printed daily instead of the alarming headlines we now read?

Would we all feel better physically without losing our energy to emotionally upsetting tales?  Have we been keeping ourselves weak?  With less fear and judgment of others, would we be able to come together for the greater good?  What good in the world could we do with extra energy everyday and by sending love to those who are struggling with challenges?

Update 2010:  I still don’t miss reading or listening to the news.  The little news that I do receive often does not sound positive, and so I use the information to send love, light and prayer for all those involved.  I refuse to get involved in other people’s drama or to let fear take the place of love. Please, join me in being a beacon of light with lots of extra energy to make a positive difference through love, light and prayer.

The Keys to Happiness

The happiest people are those who find cause to stay upbeat.  If you haven’t been taught “happiness skills,” then now is a good time to teach yourself.  The happiness you seek is all a state of mind.

Research has shown that 90% of the thoughts you have today are the same thoughts that you had yesterday. That does not mean, however, that you can’t have a greater percentage of positive thoughts. It is possible to rewire your brain for happiness.

Being happy is sought after in all cultures and has even generated college courses in “Positive Psychology.”  These “happiness” psychologists believe you can be happier if you live in the present moment, have gratitude for all the positives in your life and are able to recognize the beauty of nature.

Staying in the present moment involves refusing to believe every thought you have.  Many of your thoughts may be based on the past or false expectations appearing real (also known as FEAR).  Do not allow these types of thoughts to inhibit the present moment.  Choose how you react from your heart.

Staying present also involves focusing on who you are in terms of your character strengths, goals, and what gives meaning to your life. Know who you are.  Define yourself by making a list of your character strengths, perhaps with assistance from your closest friends, and what you believe your values to be.   Are you kind, fair, supportive, loyal?

Give yourself credit for living up to those character traits.  Negative judgments are conditioning from parents, family, friends and culture. Place your attention on the good in you and be happy with who you are.  Love yourself so that you do not lose your boundaries or become codependent .

Choose how you will view setbacks and tragedies and adjust to new circumstances.  You can choose to focus your attention on happier, more positive thoughts.   Remember, the idea of who you are is not dependent on your circumstances.  Focus on what your strengths are and work to use your strength and abilities to move you forward.

If you tend to compare yourself to others, choose how much and with whom you compare yourself and about what.  If income and material goods are your measure of comparison on the happiness scale, know that an increased standard of living does not bring happiness. Once your basic needs are met, any additional income will not increase your happiness with life.

Develop an attitude of gratitude that focuses on noticing all the positive things in your life, including the small ones.  What did you think, see, feel, taste, hear or smell that brought you pleasure, joy, or feeling good about who you are?  Studies have shown that those who take time daily to write down the positive things from the day are happier.

Take time to “smell the roses.”  In other words, spend time in nature.  Nothing is more grounding than being like a child, barefoot in the grass.  When you are grounded, you are able to run off your stress and look at life more objectively and less emotionally.

Every day you have many opportunities to focus on the present, the beauty around you, and

the good in your life.  Don’t wait to be happy in the future, for the future is now.

Are You Psychic?

Are You Psychic?

You have psychic ability, whether it is intuition or extra-sensory perception, but you may not be cognizant of your ability all of the time.  In some these abilities are stronger than they are in others. To help you recognize your gifts, I put together a list of the various ways that you can receive information.

Many we speak of psychic communication, we are talking about the “Clairs.” The word claire is French for clear or light, thus the “clairs” are a clear communication from your angels or guides and it can be a direct connection to your deepest inner knowledge and wisdom. The clairs relate to the senses of hearing, smelling, knowing, tasting, feeling and seeing.

Clairaudience- being  clairaudient – clear hearing

Clairalience - being clairalient - clear smelling

Claircognizance – being claircognizant – clear knowing

Clairgustance – being clairgustant clear – tasting

Clairsentience – being clairsentient – clear feeling

Clairvoyance – being clairvoyant – clear seeing

Have you ever sworn that you heard someone call your name or that the doorbell rang or the phone rang and found that no one was there? These are some soft and gentle signals that you have a communication coming and to use your clairaudience or extra-sensory hearing abilities. Just sit quietly and see where your thinking takes you.

When I first started doing healing, while working on a young man, I suddenly heard the word “sepsis”. This was my clairaudience giving me information. I instinctively knew it was related to the blood, but had to look it up to discover that it was a blood infection.

Maybe you have smelled something that has no visible source, like the smell of flowers, your mother’s favorite perfume, or your father’s cigar. This is a sign of being clairalient.

When I took a healing class, I unexpectedly smelled roses very strongly. Since everyone was busy watching a video, there was no possibility that someone had brought roses into the room. Surprisingly after smelling the roses, I was inspired to create the logo that I now use for my business. It’s patterned after the Flower of Life design.

The next psychic communication is an inner knowing that many parents have when their children are in trouble or are lying. You just seem to know what is going on. Sometime knowing comes when you have been asking for guidance to solve a problem. This is claircognizance that lets you know what is going on when you need to know it.

For me this was very obvious when I was traveling and stopped to buy postcards to send to family members. Somehow, I just knew that I did not have to buy a card for my Great- Grandmother. When questioned about why I hadn’t picked out a card for her, I simply replied that she had passed. How could I know that while traveling overseas without phone, mail or email communication with family? I was using my claircognizant ability.

Have you ever had a desire for a food so badly that you could taste it even without having anything in your mouth? Maybe this ability ofclairgustance is just your body’s way of telling you what you need to be eating or helping bring to mind an event or feeling related to the last time that you consumed this food.

Perhaps you have met someone and just had a gut feeling that you didn’t like them or maybe you entered a place and instantly felt uncomfortable. Gut feelings in the solar plexus area are part of clairsentience. These gut feelings are often ones that the police recommend that you not ignore for your own safety.

Clairsentience can be a lot more powerful when you are a sensitive empath. Then you may pick up on the physical pain or emotions of others, so you are in effect sharing their joys and sorrows. This can be both a blessing and a curse, a blessing because you know where people are truly coming from and a curse if you are unaware of what you have picked up or don’t know how to get rid of other people’s stuff. (Call me for help with this.)

Clairsentience helps healers, like myself,  to know where physical problems are, have been, or will be in the body. It also helps to pinpoint the emotional issues that the individual needs to deal with or release in order to feel better.

Are you able to sense where to find things? Do you ever feel the need to alter your route only to hear later that you avoided an accident scene or big traffic jam? Have you ever thought of a friend just before they call?  You are using your clairvoyant abilities.

Clairvoyants can perceive or “see” things with their mind’s eye that others are unable to see. They may see auras, spirits, colors, pictures, shapes, organs and glands in the body. The image seen is often related to a specific memory or connection that you or the client have to the particular image. For example a cake may remind you of someone’s recent or upcoming birthday. Many times these images briefly pop into your mind as a movie or snapshot that can show you the past, present or future events.  You can always ask for clarification to be sure of the correct interpretation of what you are seeing.

Many psychics use clairvoyance to predict the future or see the past. Healers use it to identify what may have happened to cause an unresolved issue in the client or to show where a physical problem is in the body. When a person comes to me for a healing, I use all of the clairs to gain information.

The first time that I “saw” an organ in the body it was of a young lady who appeared to have a spot of a sticky, black substance in her lung. This was residue from smoking marijuana. With her, I also felt that she had something on her left knee. When I went down to scan her knee, I saw an elf-like man sitting on her knee. He was a nature creature who wanted me to know that this girl was very connected to the earth.

Speaking of connection to the earth, being grounded and clearing your lower chakras is important if you want to develop your clairs.  “As above, so below” is a spiritual law that applies to understanding that those who wish to develop their upper (third eye) chakra need to work on the lower chakras first. In addition, being cognizant of how you receive information, and trusting the information you begin to expand your psychic abilities.

Which are you: Clairaudient, Clairalient, Claircognizant, Clairgustant, Clairsentient or Clairvoyant? Maybe you have a combination of psychic abilities. If you pay attention, you will begin to realize that you are receiving a lot more information than you ever dreamed possible.

Faith is a passionate intuition. ~ William Wordsworth

You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself. ~ Alan Alda

Often clients have called me in panic or crying hysterically.  Yet, within 5 minutes they are calmly sharing what has triggered the upset.

What has led to this sudden return to calm?  It was not some magical power that I possess nor the sound of my voice.  What led to the calm was the clearing, grounding and brain balancing that we did together.

Clearing is done to create an energetically clear space.  Many of us are empathic, to a small degree, and in our sympathy and compassion for others, we get triggered by what may not even be our own energies.  When you have picked up a lot of other people’s energies you could be reacting to their stuff and not yours.

Grounding is THE best exercise to do for your body on a daily basis.  When you are grounded, your energy is connected to the earth, which helps you to run your stress off into the ground.  At the same time, grounding also brings healthy, supportive energies into your body.

Brain balancing helps you to access both sides of the brain simultaneously.  A balanced brain gives you the benefit of processing information from a more balanced perspective or viewpoint.

When you are cleared, grounded and brain balanced you are making decisions free from overwhelming emotion.

Say the following clearing prayer daily and whenever you are feeling stressed or panicked. CLEARING PRAYER – My Holy, Holy Spirit, clear me, the beings and auras of all those within 500 feet and this building itself of all intrusive energies; Block, disintegrate and transmute them, clearing our entire existence of their presence.

Dear All,

Healing Power Tools

Many of you know guys who love their power tools.  I have power tools that assist me with healing and the release of negative energies.  I love my healing tools as much as the guys love their power tools.

A while ago, I incorporated tuning forks into my healing sessions.   I love the way that they assist with grounding and brain balancing.  The Om tuning forks, which match the vibration of the planet, help with grounding.  The high and low C’s tuning forks assist with brain balancing.  Within the past year, I have used tuning forks at several health fairs to assist hundreds of people with the releasing of stress that comes from being grounded and brain balanced.

I have used tuning forks in many intuitive energy healing sessions whether it is a hands-on or a distance session.  Since each note relates to a different chakra, I have noticed that they seem to do a deeper clearing of the chakras   Used individually, the tuning forks can shift the energy in a problem area.

I love the portability of the tuning forks as I can easily take them to events, to a friend’s house, or on vacation.  It is fun and simple to work on your own chakras with the tuning forks. On bad days, I pull them out for self-healing.

Recently I discovered a fabulous healing tool known as Orgone/Orgonite.  For those unfamiliar with it, Orgonite is man-made and consists of crystals and metal shavings suspended in a resin with little or no color added and formed into shapes with various molds.  Orgonite come is the shape of a hearts, cones, roses, cupcakes and pyramids.

Many claims have been made for Orgnite. It is said that it turns negative energy into positive energy, improves the weather; improves plant growth, eliminates chemtrails, and mitigates the harmful effects of EMF/EMR radiation.  I can’t say that I know first-hand about these claims but I can share with you what I have found using it for healing.

I purchased a set of Orgonite from a former nun who was led to make organite.  She uses her intuitive gifts to guide her in the energies and prayers which need to be incorporate into each piece.

Shortly after receiving the orgonite, I had a client with problems with her feet which felt stiff as a board.   Spirit led me to pick up the purple heart-shaped orgonite and put it on the bottom of each foot in turn.  Surprisingly, within just a minute or two her feet softened up, and she no longer had a problem with her feet.

My next client had recently received knee surgery. A hot spot had appeared on her leg that she suspected was an infection.  I was again led to the purple heart-shaped orgonite and placed it on the hot spot.  She said that her leg began to feel as if she had an ice pack sitting on the spot.  Within five minutes, the hot spot was completely gone.

Next I used the orgonite on another client who had knee surgery.  On the top of the knee cap area wherever I place the orgonite, it felt warm inside her knee and then returned to normal temperature.  However, when the orgonite was moved to the tight muscles in her calf and thigh area, she felt cold within her leg. The heart itself never changed temperature. The tight muscles relaxed for the client.  She did a lot of emotional releasing and had a much greater range of motion in her legs afterwards.

I have a set of orgonite designed for use on the chakras.  I place a specially colored piece on each of the chakras.  In addition, I have been guided to use the tuning forks with the orgonite to magnify the healing experience.  My client, who has had life-long depression problems, experienced greater emotional centering and balancing and the effects are still ongoing.

I have since acquired a variety of pieces of orgonite and continue to learn new ways to work with them.   When using the orgonite as a healing tool, I delight in the profound emotional and physical shifts each of my clients experiences. In addition, many who come for healing feel the amazing energy difference in my home and office especially since I started working with orgonite.

If you have not had a chance to experience a healing session which incorporates these healing power tools, call to schedule a session.  If you are interested in acquiring some orgonite or some tuning forks, contact me and I will lead you to my amazing sources for these healing power tools.
